About Me
Hi, I'm Chris
I'm a software engineer based in New York. I enjoy building products that solve real problems and working on systems that operate at scale.
What I Do
Currently, I’m working on AI and security products at Datadog, building intelligent systems that help security teams work more effectively. I focus on end-to-end architecture, from initial design through production rollout.
I’ve worn many hats throughout my career: tech lead, individual contributor, mentor, and occasionally the person on-call during the holidays.
Background
Datadog
Software Engineer
Building the Bits AI Security Agent, a 24/7 AI Security Analyst that continuously triages security signals and produces investigations and recommendations. Owned the end-to-end architecture, implementation, and rollout to enterprise accounts. Shipped one of the fastest growing products in Datadog Security, becoming a primary driver for major enterprise deals.
Created and served as a thought leader for the common agent runtime and architecture, defining reusable patterns for tool calling, memory and context management, safety and guardrails, and evaluation. Tech lead for a pod of engineers, breaking down ambiguous cross-team problems into shippable milestones. Led cross-company performance investigations, establishing repeatable patterns for agentic querying over large-scale time series log data.
Backbone
Software Engineer
Early engineer who helped scale the backend infrastructure as the company grew significantly. Built a Partnerships Rules Engine end-to-end, shipping a self-serve workflow that dramatically reduced partner onboarding time and increased launch velocity.
Owned and invented the Cloud Gaming Browser with account linking for Xbox and Steam, shipped end-to-end, and delivered one of the highest adoption features in the product suite. Created novel techniques blending design and reverse engineering of cloud gaming services to streamline user onboarding. Developed cornerstone subscription features and owned partner integrations supporting enterprise deals with Apple, Discord, and others.
Capital One
Software Engineer
Drove a cloud-native replacement of a commercial banking ETL mainframe service and contributed to a company-wide ML Feature Platform enabling data scientists for model serving and compute.
